Who publishes it

This guide is published by Aerotier Manufacturing LLC, a wire harness, cable assembly and electromechanical manufacturer in Berlin, Connecticut, and a Vexidus Corporation company. Aerotier is in start-up and open for qualification and RFQs for aerospace, automotive and defense work.

We say that up front because a guide about choosing suppliers, written by a supplier, should be read with that in mind.

How it is written

• It does not rank manufacturers. There is no league table here, and there will not be one.
• It points to checks you can make yourself, such as certificate databases and registration records, rather than asking you to take anyone's word for it, including ours.
• It does not describe Aerotier as holding certifications it does not hold. Aerotier does not yet hold third-party quality certifications or federal registrations. Its current position is set out on Aerotier's quality page.
• Standards are named for what they require. We summarize them for buyers and recommend reading the published standard for anything contractual.
